Winter Elopement at a Luxury Villa in the Blue Ridge Mountains

Gay & Robert had a luxurious winter elopement this December in Blowing Rock, North Carolina – the perfect ending to my 2024 wedding season! It’s rare that I have the chance to photograph a winter elopement here in the Blue Ridge Mountains due to the unpredictable weather conditions and road closures, but if you’re dreaming of a winter elopement… I’ll gladly share my secrets with you to make it happen.

The first secret to eloping here in the winter is to choose a dependable location like a small venue or rental property. The Blue Ridge Parkway and most other parks close in the winter months, so a rental property with guaranteed access is key! This 5-bedroom villa offers a private escape to the mountains with jaw-dropping views, a large outdoor pool, sauna, and a grand interior with room for their family & friends.

One of my favorite details from their elopement was their attire – her glittery champagne dress with a fur shall, and his deep blue coat brought so much uniqueness to their portraits and fit the season perfectly. And the red florals added a beautiful pop of color that beautifully complimented their attire & the winter scenery.
