Kristi & Neil had quite the wild elopement planning story. When they first booked their elopement, we started planning a day in the mountains and a reception at Reverie in downtown Asheville for the fall. But after Helene hit North Carolina just 2 months before their wedding date, we were uncertain about whether or not their ceremony location would be accessible, and Reverie was without power and water. So instead, Reverie’s team brought the venue to them.
K&N hosted their wedding in their own home, complete with a beautiful backyard ceremony space and dinner under a big reception tent. The day was slow-paced and intentional, starting with their first look & private vows by the fire, one of my favorite parts of the day.
Documenting these moments became even more meaningful, knowing just how much they had gone through to get there. They could have canceled their wedding. They could have just gone to the courthouse. But instead, they made a magical day happen in their own backyard. Their resiliency was so inspiring, and I’m just so happy that they were able to celebrate their love despite the challenges.
Abby and the Reverie team facilitated the entire night – setting up tables, arranging flowers, directing the ceremony, serving drinks, and making everyone feel taken care of. I was amazed by how they managed to bring the magic of Reverie to an entirely new space.
