The Best Airbnbs in North Carolina for a Wedding or Elopement
Where you choose to stay for your elopement has big impact on your wedding experience, it’s important to choose a space that you love, feel comfortable in, and are excited to visit! Whether you’re planning an airbnb elopement ceremony, looking for a getaway for 2, or a place for guests to stay with you and celebrate, North Carolina has a variety of unique stays to offer. In this blog post, I’ve included a variety Airbnbs that would be perfect for your wedding or elopement! Airbnbs for the adventurous couple, luxury-loving couple, and for a weekend with family and friends.

How to Elope at an Airbnb in Asheville
Eloping at an Airbnb in Asheville is very easy and stress-free, eliminating the need to find private locations in the mountains. Because many couples are eloping with privacy as a top priority, Airbnbs are the perfect setting for an intimate ceremony. Asheville has a wide variety of Airbnbs to choose from – Cabins, A-Frames, treehouses, luxury homes…the possibilities are truly endless. You can even have your entire day at your Airbnb, complete with getting ready indoors, a first look and ceremony outside on the property, and a private chef on-site for dinner. Or, you can simply choose a beautiful Airbnb that is nearby to any additional locations or experiences you’d like to include in your elopement day! Before we dive into my favorite Airbnbs for an elopement, here is what you need to know about planning your elopement at an Airbnb:
- Airbnb Event Policies: Always check with your host about their event policy. Because Airbnbs are individually owned, some hosts will require an event fee, and some don’t allow events at all, so be sure to check with hosts before booking if you’re planning to have your ceremony at the home.
- Searching for Airbnbs: When searching on Airbnb, filter your search using your preferred location, dates, guests, and amenities. Including all of these things will help narrow it down to a less overwhelming amount of options. Look for Airbnbs with lots of natural light, neutral colored walls, and an interior design that you love for the best photos.
- Guests: If you are eloping with guests, I would suggest booking an Airbnb where you can all stay together to ensure that there is enough room and parking for everyone. In some cases, hosts will allow additional guests to come for your ceremony, but this is rare and usually requires an additional fee, so always check with the host before booking.
- Booking Your Airbnb: Book your Airbnb as far in advance as possible, especially if you’re eloping in the fall! Asheville is a very popular travel destination, so looking at Airbnbs as soon as possible will ensure that you have a variety of places to choose from. I also suggest arriving to your Airbnb a couple days prior to your elopement to settle in and choose your getting ready room, ceremony spot, portrait spots, etc.
- Directions: Send driving directions to your vendors. Many Airbnbs are tucked away in the mountains and may have confusing driving directions, steep driveways, dirt roads, tight parking etc. This is a good question to ask your host ahead of time so that everyone arrives on time without getting lost.
The Best Airbnbs in North Carolina for Your Elopement
Little Mountain A-Frame
This quaint A-Frame is located in Old Fort, very close to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway! The home features a gorgeous exterior, fire pit, hot tub, hammock, bright and beautifully designed interior, and sleeps up to 4 guests.
Southern Host Log Cabin in Black Mountain
This cabin is located in Black Mountain, North Carolina and is one of my absolute favorite homes I’ve been to for an elopement. My favorite features are the bright sun room, mountain views, wildflowers, beautifully decorated interior, and the stone steps out front make for a perfect ceremony spot. 16 Guest Family Home in Clyde
This large family home is perfect for couples that are looking to stay with family for their elopement. This home sleeps 16+ guests and has a large dining room, perfect for a catered elopement dinner! The photo below is from Joni & Derek’s elopement at this Airbnb.
The Storybook A-Frame in Boone
This cute little A-Frame is tucked away in Boone, North Carolina (only 10 minutes from downtown Boone). It has a beautiful boho-style interior with lots of light, perfect for getting ready the morning of your elopement.
The Glass House in Asheville
This Scandinavian Villa is located in Asheville, North Carolina. The home sleeps up to 7 guests with 3 bedrooms, including a private studio suite. You can book a private chef and massages through a company that they have partnered with – making this a very luxurious, relaxing and memorable stay. Enjoy a massage the morning of your elopement and end the day with a delicious chef-cooked meal.
Asheville Bungalow
If you’re a lover of interior design, this space will definitely catch your eye! This bungalow in Asheville was featured in Architectural Digest for it’s incredible contemporary design and mountain views all throughout the home. In addition to design and views, the reviews rave about the comfortable beds, robes and slippers, Sonos speakers, hot tub, and many other amenities that made this an extra luxurious stay. This home is 12 minutes from downtown Asheville and sleeps up to 4 guests.
High Heaven near Highlands, NC
This airbnb is perfect for an Airbnb elopement ceremony with family or friends! Located in Sapphire, North Carolina – close to Highlands where you’ll find a cute downtown area, botanical garden and hiking trails. This gorgeous home sleeps 15 guests and the backyard is perfect for an intimate ceremony with beautiful mountain views. Laurel Falls Venue
Laurel Falls is located near Asheville, North Carolina (just 20 minutes from downtown), on 18 acres of land tucked away in the mountains. There are 4 on-site cabins to sleep up to 19 guests, making this the perfect venue for couples who have guests traveling in from out of state for their wedding. They offer a variety of different outdoor spaces for your elopement, including 2 ceremony spots with stunning views of the mountains, 3 reception spaces to choose from (a barn, patio and porch), as well as trails and waterfalls on the property for portraits.
