Jess & Mike’s Fall Intimate Wedding in Asheville, North Carolina
One of the biggest priorities Jess had for her wedding day was to be able to walk into her ceremony relaxed and stress-free. Her and her fiancé Mike decided to have an intimate wedding at sunset with just their close friends and family, so we planned a morning for just the two of them to enjoy together before the ceremony. We started the day with a short hike on the Blue Ridge Parkway, where they could be fully present with each other. There’s nothing more peaceful than surrounding yourself by big and beautiful mountains.
After portraits and a relaxing morning in the mountains, they met their family at an easily-accessible spot with beautiful views for their ceremony. Jess & Mike said their vows as leaves fell from the trees and the sun set behind the mountains. After their ceremony, we headed to Reverie Events in Asheville for a night of dinner and dancing.
Despite the 3 locations and many moving parts of their day, this was one of the most relaxed elopement days I’ve been a part of. Here are some key takeaways that you can apply to your own wedding:
- Plan a private morning for just the two of you before involving anyone else. All of the pressure not to see each other before the ceremony can be nerve wracking. Instead, you can have a first look, share private vows, or take portraits at the beginning of the day to prioritize time with each other and calm your nerves.
- Enlist help. Hire vendors that you trust to make your day as stress-free as possible. We are here for you!
- Go with the flow. I know it’s easier said than done, but the day truly goes so much better when you embrace the unpredictable nature of weddings. With the right crew of people around you, problems will be fixed and everything will work out.
- Involve people who genuinely love and support you. If there are people who you know that will cause stress, don’t just invite them because you feel obligated to. Be selfish and put your needs first. Having an intimate wedding with just your closest friends and family allows you to be present and intentional for each of your guests.
