A snow-covered mountaintop isn’t exactly what Hanna & Alex had in mind for their April elopement, but it turned out to be one of the most memorable elopements I’ve experienced throughout my career as a photographer. We started their day early in the morning at Black Balsam Knob along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and prepared for cold temperatures after keeping an eye on the forecast. It had rained the whole day prior, and temperatures dipped below freezing overnight, which resulted in the incredible frosty view you’ll see in their photos! Hanna & Alex’s close family & friends bundled up and joined them for the hike up for the ceremony, sharing so much excitement as the view only got better and better. Following their ceremony, they ended the day with a reception at Highland Brewing in Asheville with a larger group of family and friends to celebrate!
If you’re thinking about eloping and still want to include some close family and friends, Hanna & Alex are proof that it’s possible! When you’re getting married in the mountains in North Carolina, make sure to check guest restrictions, permit requirements, and rules when choosing your ceremony location.
