If you’re dreaming of a weekend escape with your family to the Blue Ridge Mountains for your elopement, Madison & Brent’s Grandfather Mountain elopement day is a great example of what that could look like. They spent the weekend at a quaint little Inn, tucked away in the mountains, only 30 minutes from their ceremony location. It was really important to them to get married at a spot where their close family could comfortably attend, so they chose to get married at an overlook in Grandfather Mountain State Park, with beautiful views and plenty of space for their guests to gather. Grandfather Mountain is a big park, so I loved that Madison & Brent booked a transportation company to take them and their family to the overlook. Everyone arrived together and on time, eliminating the need to send addresses and coordinate arrival times. After their ceremony, we headed to a trail on the Blue Ridge Parkway to explore and take portraits, and then went back to the Inn for a private sunset dinner at the Inn. The Inn at Crestwood not only served as a great place to stay for the weekend, but also provided a delicious dinner for everyone in one of their private dining rooms. They ended the night celebrating over good food, lots of laughs, and champagne.
If you’re considering getting married at Grandfather Mountain, I can’t recommend it enough! The staff was very helpful and responsive. A permit is not needed to have your ceremony in the park, and the bride and groom get in for free! You will just have to purchase tickets for your guests. For Madison & Brent’s elopement, I was able to handle all coordination with the park so that they didn’t have to worry about a thing.
