If you’re dreaming of an elopement with beautiful mountain views and seclusion from the busyness of hiking trails, Erin & Kyle’s airbnb elopement is definitely one to read for inspiration!! Erin & Kyle eloped this fall at an Airbnb tucked away in the mountains of Western North Carolina with their families. The backyard of the house provided a perfect spot for their ceremony with a view of the mountains, where Kyle’s sister officiated their ceremony. The house was also able to accommodate 15 guests, making it a great spot for them and their families to stay for their elopement.

We started the day with photos of their wedding day details, including invitations that Erin made herself! I absolutely loved that their invitations included a wedding day timeline, as well as a timeline of events for the whole weekend.
Erin’s mom helped her get into her dress, and then we headed to the front yard of the house for their first look.
After their first look, family gathered for their ceremony. Following their first kiss, everyone popped confetti cannons (biodegradable, of course!) in celebration. *If you’re considering using confetti for your own elopement, please make sure to only do this on a private property and not on public lands.
After their ceremony, we headed to a restaurant nearby that they had visited the day before for family portraits. We had originally planned on doing family portraits at the Airbnb, but they loved the backdrop that this restaurant had to offer, and it was right on the way to their portrait location. One thing I love about elopements is the flexibility it gives you to make last minute changes like this!
After family portraits, their family headed back to the airbnb and we headed to a trail in Highlands, NC for couple’s portraits. Erin & Kyle eloped on a Monday, so there were very few people on the trail even at sunset! We got a beautiful golden hour on the mountain, and also had time to walk across the street to explore the Highlands Botanical Gardens!
Thank you so much for reading! I’m Erin – not the bride in these photos though, a different Erin! 😉 I’m an elopement photographer based in North Carolina.
